This website holds the resources that the collaboration of Governor Support Services in Greater Manchester have agreed to share so that we can focus more of our efforts on those service offers that are more relevant to the needs of our local areas.

Does it replace the support from my local authority Governor Services team?

Your Governor Services team will continue to provide important access to the biggest source of information, guidance, training (and any clerking services) for you as governors that are relevant and appropriate to the needs of governing bodies in their local authority area.

What does ‘good practice’ mean?

To us it means that the partners in the partnership have collectively selected, approved and reviewed the material on this website against a set of quality assurance principles that we have jointly agreed. It also means that we have sought the advice of a focus group of governors across the region.

We will update and review the contents of this site as far as possible on a six monthly basis.
